Showcase Sites

A screenshot of Made By TJ
Simple, but effective, with some nice jquery goodness. Thibault Jorge's site is minimal, but well executed, and features examples of TJ's web based work, and some great photography too. Nice.

This one is going to be a bit controversial. I stumbled across this by accident. Interesting, quirky design, but not sure I'd have built it. CSS based layout of images, with very little text, so not great for accessibility or SEO etc, but worth a look anyway.
A screenshot of Rob Edwards
This is one of the best css/jquery sites I've seen yet. Beautiful design, interesting fonts, with lots of attention to detail, made more impressive with lots of movement using jquery. We've come a long way since Flash was the only way to make your site come alive. I really like this site.
A screenshot of Coo-Coo Core
Italian designer Carla Maglione's website is simple, but effective. An unusual design, with sliding sections using jQuery, and some examples of Carla's fine work. Well worth a visit
A screenshot of BROKEDDESIGN
BrokedDesign's site is a bit unusual, due to the lack of horizontal alignment in many of the page elements. It has a very organic "feel" to it, which I've not seen for a while, although it's a real shame it doesn't work well in IE...
A screenshot of Dave Harper Design
Dave Harper is a graphic designer from Indiana USA.His is an instructor of visual communication, and work as a freelance graphic design consultant, and his website, is truly eycatching. Striking use of coluor, with some nice typography. Nice.
A screenshot of Boxes and Arrows

Since 2001, ittâ€s been a peer-written journal promoting contributors who want to provoke thinking, push limits, and teach a few things along the way. Well worth checking out.
A screenshot of Foohack
Foohack is the blog of Isaac Z. Schlueter, a Web Developer, Front-end Engineer, and Browser UI Builder at Yahoo! His blog has a very minimalist design, with nice, simple typography and killer content. His articles are always a good read, although I wish he'd post more often! Well worth checking out. One of my favorite sites.
A screenshot of Deltaschnauzer
Deltaschnauzer is a interesting blog/magazine, with some great examples of design across all disciplines, and well worth checking out. It has a funky look and feel, but close inspection shows real attention to detail. Nice.
A screenshot of Project 83
I like good typography. I believe it helps reinforce a message. That's why I like Project83's site. Based in Nashville, Project83 offer web design and development services, training and consultancy services. Nice site, and their portfolio has some great content.
A screenshot of Texture Lovers
Nice CSS design on a WordPress based site. The purpose of Texture Lovers is to archive some of the best free textures from around the web and better yet only archive the ones that are free to use in commercial and personal work without worrying about giving credit to the source (no attribution).
A screenshot of Psuedo Art
Psuedo Art is the portfolio site for Stefan Lelovic. His work includes motion graphics, animation and more. Nice CSS site, very contemporary feel, and if you're into video, worth checking out.
A screenshot of Ninja Support
Ninja Support provide server setup and support services, but thier website has a definate sense of humour. Nice design, particularly the way the content "hangs" by ropes and scrolls over the background. Neat idea, well executed.
A screenshot of Artypapers
Artypapers began as an experiment but became an escape and turned into a series of useful & fun applications. Nice site, with some insipirational stuff in the portfolio section. It's also worth taking time to check out previous versions of the site by clicking the links at the bottom of the page!
A screenshot of Richard Arran
Richard Arran is an English landscape photographer who specialises in Panoramic photos. This is the first of a series of online exhibitions showcasing Richard's work from New Zealand. Nice site, with interesting horizontal layout, with some nice JavaScript powered elements.
