Showcase Sites
I really like this site. A modern day twist on the Victorian era "Penny Dreadful" short stories, with a suitably old fashioned design.
Well executed, with great content...Nice!
You may have seen some of the firms out there offering PSD to HTML/CSS services. You give them the design, they code it up for you. CSSNinjas offer just such a service.
Their site has a nice look and feel, validates as XHTML Strict, and explains what they do. It also has a bit of jQuery goodness thrown in...
Hmm, this is an interesting one, as it's a bit "hectic" to look at. I don't know much about snowboarding, but enjoyed looking around the site, especially the videos!
This one is a good one for those you into motion graphics. MotionSpire takes the CSS Gallery idea, and applies it to motion graphics.
A great showcase of some really high quality motion graphics. If you are looking for some inspiration, or you're just interested checking out some showreels, MotionSpire is a great place to start!
Digital Mash is the portfolio site of Australian designer Rob Morris.
Nice design, bright and bold, with some great examples of his work and photography, with a nice little bit of jQuery thrown in for good measure. Well worth a visit
This is an interesting one. For those of you that have'nt had a look at Adobe Creative Suite CS4, this site showcases some of what's possible using the latest version of Adobe's software. The nagivation is a bit flaky in places, but lots of striking visuals, and a few interesting videos hidden throughout. Well worth a visit.
Another nice web design agency site, utilising Flash.
At forst glance it looks very plain and simple, but spend a little time exploring and find the splashes of colour and interactivity.
LOL. What can I say, I have just found probably the maddest web site I have ever seen. I'm not even sure where to start when i comes to describing this site to be honest. Big bright bold colors, crazy characters and sound effects, immersive/infuriating navigation, and some bonkers sound effects (if you think you can hear your hard drive making wierd noises, don't worry, its this site - it took me a while to realise!)
Really cool, original use of Flash, it opened my eyes to how far Flash design has progressed recently.
Kre8tiveminds are a web design and development agency based in India. Thier site has is easy on the eye, with a very contemporary look and feel.
The site also features some nice use of ProtoType and Scriptaculous. Nice.
My colleague Nick found this one, the Australian architectural design agency Rice Daubney has an interesting web site, which makes extensive use of Flash and video. Well worth checking out, one of the best flash sites I have seen for some time, although probably a site for those of you with a slow connection.
The "people" section is particularly interesting. Check it out for yourself.
This site is a top tool for those of you who work with colour. You can create, share and download colour palettes for your designs in a variety of formats.
Well worth checking out if you are looking for some inspiration.
Describing themselves as a "creative energy company" MCBD certainly live up it!
With clients including Debenhams, Waitrose, The Metropolitan Police among others, not to mention the brilliant Hovis TV compaign, their site has to get quite a message across.
Nice flash site, interesting way of presenting their message. See what you think!
LOL. I just had to post this one, but I'm not entirely sure if it's a wind-up or not! The Brown Corporation make and sell a cardboard toilet suitable for festival goers and campers. They also have an interesting sense of humour....
"...is a lightweight portable cardboard toilet, made specifically for outdoor use. The box pops up from a convenient 14 inch flat pack to a rigid, reusable, comfortable toilet. Each box comes with ten degradable poo bags."
Nice CSS and doodle style graphics. Just don't visit if you are easily offended by toilet humour.
Stunning. Just visit this Flash site and see for yourself. Don't hit the continue button until you have watched a few minutes of the intro video, or you'll miss some really nice touches.
Protect 7-7 is an art installation which will be displayed on an area of Antarctica in 2009, by artist Wim Tellier.
The site is just beautiful. Well worth exploring
Train-ee provide training for the ExpressionEngine publishing system.
Nice clean site, easy on the eye, with a bit of jQuery goodness for good measure
